@josep and I are preparing a request for funding from the Fellowship treasury, covering two main areas:

  • Polkadot.js migration and transition: Helping ecosystem teams migrate away from Polkadot.js through technical assistance, migration tooling, documentation, and compatibility improvements, while providing the minimum maintenance necessary to keep existing Polkadot.js applications operational during the transition.
  • Protocol and RPC improvements for modern dApps: Improving the standard RPC interfaces, particularly for light-client compatibility. This includes paginated storage queries, storage change detection, and more reliable transaction inclusion and lifecycle tracking.

The full proposal, including the scope of work and funding details, is available here:

Full proposal (Google Docs)

As we are both Rank II Fellows, the on-chain referendum would need to be submitted on our behalf by a higher-ranked Fellow.

We are publishing this discussion ahead of the on-chain submission. Feedback and comments are welcome here or directly in the proposal document.
