After discussing the first fellow meetup, we strongly recommend promoting Oliver to Rank II based on his exceptional contributions to the Polkadot project. Oliver has primarily focused on benchmarking tasks throughout his tenure, significantly improving the user experience and ease of use in this area. One of his notable achievements includes the development of the benchmark CLI commands, which greatly assist developers in the benchmarking process.
In addition to his benchmarking work, Oliver has made significant contributions to critical pallets like pallet-message-queue, which play a vital role in buffering XCM messages for Polkadot. Oliver has helped to design this pallet to seamlessly integrate into the weight system, ensuring that parachains do not attempt to load messages that could overload the Proof-of-Validity (POV). Furthermore, he has actively participated in the development of POV metering, which is currently being gradually implemented. This feature will enable parachain developers not only to track time but also to monitor POV usage—an essential aspect when it comes to constructing foundational elements for parachains.
